Veftryggur Web based client for a NAV Insurance System

Veftryggur is a web based client for the customer’s sales force to create and manage insurance quotes directly on the web. The customer’s sales force range from in-house representatives, external commissioned sales persons and bank representatives within Landsbanki around Iceland. All of these use Veftryggur to create and manage their Vörður insurance quotes, which are stored directly into the Dynamics NAV ERP system at the Vörður offices.

Technicalities

The system is built as a Microsoft’s ASP.NET web application and custom web services that represent the direct access into the Vörður ERP system. In order to build a highly interactive and user friendly web pages Ajax solutions were used as appropriate. The communication from the custom web services into Dynamics NAV is implemented using the NETConductor Rue de Net product. In addition, every time a user logs into the system the NETAuthenticator is used to verify the access and provide the user with a secure connection.
